 Are you struggling to

  • maintain a sustainable music business?

  • sell as much music as you’d like?

  • get booked at events, shows, or clubs?

  • or just tired of paying subscription and/or commission fees?

Well, here’s a little food for thought

  • Having a presence on only music platforms can be tough. Without a website, discoverability, branding, and professionalism only go so far.

  • Having a website and place to sell music, DJ services, and merch for your brand is not an ongoing expense! The old way of having a website is to either pay heaps and get one built for you or do all the work yourself. Either way, you never really own the website afterward and are basically forced to pay “rent” forever regarding hosting fees and/or commissions. Even a “free” Linktree page charges 10% fees or monthly charges, and it’s horrible for Search Engine Optimization (aka no one will find you organically).

If you build the website and do all your own marketing, what are you actually paying for? A spec of real estate on web 2.0, forever?

  • Social media platforms come with restrictions. With a website, you’re in complete control and can build a fanbase through email without worrying about profile restrictions, algorithm limitations, or losing your account and followers without warning. Also, the older a website gets, the more traction it usually gains in search, unlike your social media profiles and posts.

Bandcamp is pretty safe, but it is now owned by Epic Games, so who knows if and how they will try to reach into the pockets of Artists on the platform.

  • It’s much easier to get the right attention and information to and from promoters, event organizers, and club owners with a custom domain aligned with your brand. Having an official home for your sounds with your artist name, branding colors, and work is a fantastic asset to use as your music portfolio. Having a dedicated place to host EPKs is a game-changer for any gig or upcoming tracks!

  • Websites still have a lot of organic methods of getting noticed by future fans and acquiring additional funding. A well-optimized site for search engines goes much further with less effort over time than with social media (with a strong enough presence, it’s now possible to make a living as a DJ or producer without leaving your house)!

Stuart Spade: father, husband, digital sage, electronic dance music and hip hop fiend and historian, aspiring DJ/producer, and creator of HipHopElectronic.com.

Greetings, electronic music producers and DJs:

I’m Stuart Spade, creator of Hip Hop Electronic. I created this website intending to educate others on the importance of Electronic Dance Music and club culture and to do it in a way that would directly benefit the electronic music community today.

“We don’t pay advertisers (they have enough money), only artists. Our marketing strategies reflect this. However, if HipHopElectronic has followed you or purchased your music, it is also because we dig your work and are happy to support you.”

I may have filled the gap for a conscience and thorough electronic dance history website, but I still notice a HUGE lack of producers and DJs with a proper digital space or branding all of their own.

So, my love for electronic sounds and their makers extends outside of HipHopElectronic.com. I’m devoted to helping artists like us create a more sustainable life for our sounds by offering tools and tactics that will help make it possible. One of those offerings is a completely free website and store.

This is made possible through a partnership with Dashnex, a company at the forefront of web development!

FAQ

Can I see a sample website live?

Here’s the sample website I have made using my monicker Stütah. The first page is an HTML template, and the album page is a basic page designed in Page Designer for selling music. The “Songs and services” section of the website links to an example of the pre-built stores where you can easily add your music, beats, sample packs, merch, or whatever for sale.

Is it really free? Including 24/7 support?

Yes, and yes! However, if you’d like a custom domain, you’ll need to pay a domain register, such as Namecheap (around $10 a year).

What if I want a website but don’t want to do-it-myself? Or I get stuck in the process?

Naturally, we’d like to see you succeed and will help in any way we can!

If you’re stuck or on a really tight budget, we offer trade work (writing content for HipHopElectronic) so that you can still get your website up and running. We want all DJs and producers to have a fair chance online without the confines of social media. Money should not matter!

No monthly fees, how is this even possible?

These websites are part of an affiliate program, and we may receive commissions from future marketing tools that are available to you from Dashnex. So, you can feel proud knowing that a portion of any money you spend will be helping support the electronic music community! (However, at no point will you ever be required to pay anything to keep your website.)

Also, the internet is changing!

Unlike most hosting companies that are designed around established ideas from the late ‘90s and early 2000s (before a DAW was even a thing!?), they simply are unchangeable due to the disruptive effect it would have on their existence.

(in other words, they can’t stop charging recurring fees even if they want to because it would literally destroy their business overnight)

Dashnex Powertech taps into the latest innovations and technological capabilities, which were simply not available when most established companies were launched.

Of course, they try to adapt and change.

But they can’t stop charging monthly fees because they would lose their business overnight.

On the other hand, tapping directly into TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS and cloud computing efficiencies drives overhead pricing way down.

This allows us to offer some of the most cost-effective hosting solutions on the market while providing a way better service to music producers and DJs.

Think about it this way…

Today, you most likely can’t imagine your life without the ability to do a free WhatsApp call with your family, friends, or fellow musicians.

You probably don’t question how it’s possible that all these calls are free and WhatsApp doesn’t charge you a dime for them, right?

Another company you’re most likely familiar with and may even have music stored on is called Dropbox.

It’s a file-sharing service used by over 600 million people worldwide that allows you to share files via the cloud for free.

And there are hundreds of famous companies just like these.

The reason they can offer such a low-cost or FREE solution is that they are using the same CLOUD technology that DashNex uses!

Is it easy to create and edit?

Yes! Your website can use a custom HTML template or be created using the drag-and-drop page builder in the Dashnex platform. There’s also plenty of tutorial videos and free support to help you during the whole process.

Stores are already set up for easy product populations and only require minor customizations.

Can I sell my music and physical merchandise on the site?

Of course! You’ll be able to do both with the website and store and pay no commissions or fees (except to your payment processor). The profit is all yours!

Can people other than DJs and electronic music producers take advantage of this offer?

Certainly! Whatever website or store you create is totally up to you.
